This course was all about creating an object out of wood, completely by hand. Each team got a dedicated space, this being Rector Dhanis aula in the centre of Antwerp.
With our seating design, we aim to create an inviting space where people can enjoy the fresh air and natural daylight. By incorporating grid-like patterns found in the building’s façade, we seek a sense of linear clarity, reinforcing continuity and cohesion. The bench partially rests on the existing railing outside the building, creating a subtle visual and functional connection between the seating element and its architectural context.
