Masterplan: Unity in Diversity
The masterplan designd by two other students of the University inspired us through its orientation and spaciousness between residential blocks. The mix of towers, blocks, and a connecting middle section provided an exciting challenge. This middle section became the heart of our project, linking both halves. The stepped apartments add dynamism, while the passerelle creates an architectural walk between the residences.
From Housing Concept to Living Unit
Our design begins on the smallest scale: the individual home. We developed both family housing and apartments, connected by a central design element: the "wet zone."
Duplex and Passerelle
For family housing, we developed a duplex typology where stepping volumes are shaped by key interior elements like the kitchen. Folding walls return as a flexible solution, allowing adaptable space division.
Corners as Anchors
The corner apartments differ from the main block layout, allowing the passerelles to shorten. A circulation core serves two units per floor: a family apartment in the front and a stepped unit in the back, ranging from one-bedroom to studio layouts.
Façade Identity
The façade reveals different entry points:
Access to corner apartments and passerelle
Entrance to food halls, adding a social layer
Second corner entry, featuring an iconic stair design (Entrance tower).
